Amitabh Dwyer
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon – International Surgical Training Programme (ISTP)
Mr Dwyer is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at Hinchingbrooke & Doddington Hospitals. He specialises in shoulder and elbow surgery. He is passionate about training and currently teaches medical students on the Cambridge rotation. He is director of Trauma Skills Course at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and also conducts in-house teaching programmes. Alongside his clinical commitments, he served as Clinical Lead for the Musculoskeletal Business Unit within his hospital and gained efficiencies in increasing output and delivering a more efficient and cost-effective service. Mr Dwyer serves on the UK and international Faculty for the RCS MRCS exams and supervises ISTP surgery doctors within his own orthopaedic department. Mr Dwyer has published over 30 scientific articles in peer reviewed Orthopaedic journals and has presented his work at both national and international conferences. His main research interest is in assessing outcomes following shoulder surgery. He is a member of specialist national and international Orthopaedic societies.
