Tim Lane
Consultant Urological Surgeon – International Surgical Training Programme (ISTP)
Mr Lane is based at Lister Hospital and specialises in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery. Since his appointment in 2007, he has helped develop the provision of robotic surgery for urological malignancies and have continued a translational research interest in the genetics of urological malignancy. Current research interests are based on the development of micro-arrays for prostate cancer based on a series of 500 patients who have undergone robotic prostatectomies. His clinical academic interests currently focus on the physiological impacts of robotic surgery and enhanced recovery programs. Alongside his clinical commitments, Mr Lane has an established educational portfolio locally and nationally – including roles as Clinical Tutor, Foundation Program Director, and Chairman of the Foundation Board and Deanery Careers Lead. He is Chairman, RCS Court of Examiners and invited Member of Council.
